Short answer: Pinterest does not publish an official "best number". A steady pace you can maintain, such as 3 to 5 new pins a week for a new account or 1 to 2 a day for an established one, beats bursts followed by silence. Quality and variety matter more than raw volume.

There is no official number

Pinterest does not tell creators how many pins to post. Advice online ranges from a few a week to dozens a day, and much of it is opinion. What is consistent across Pinterest guidance is the focus on useful, original content published regularly. Treat the numbers below as starting points, not rules, and measure your own results in Pinterest Analytics.

A realistic pace by stage

Established with many posts14-35Only if each pin is original and useful

Start at the level you can keep for three months. Consistency compounds, and a pace you abandon in week three helps nobody.

Consistency beats bursts

Pinterest pins keep earning impressions for weeks or months, so the benefit of publishing builds over time. Ten pins in one day followed by nothing for a month tends to underperform the same ten pins spread across two weeks. Batch the making, spread the publishing.

Quality over quantity

Pinterest discourages repetitive and low-value content. Ten original pins for ten different posts are better than one pin repeated ten times. Focus on fresh pins: new images that target different keywords.

How to keep up without burning out

  1. Pick one batch day a week.
  2. Choose 2 to 3 posts and plan 5 keyword angles for each (keyword research).
  3. Create all the pin images at once. In Pin Magic you paste the link and export 10+ pins in minutes.
  4. Write titles and descriptions with the title and description generators.
  5. Publish across the week using Pinterest's own scheduler or the tool you prefer (how to automate posting).

Pinterest's built-in scheduler lets you queue pins in advance, with limits that Pinterest can change, so check its help centre for the current numbers.

How to adjust your schedule

  • Impressions rising? Keep the pace and add more angles for winning topics.
  • Impressions flat for 8-12 weeks? Improve titles and images before posting more.
  • Feeling overloaded? Cut volume, keep the batch day, and automate image creation.
  • Seasonal content? Publish 4-8 weeks before the season starts. See how to plan a month of Pinterest content.

Frequently asked questions

How many times a day should I post on Pinterest?

There is no official number. A sustainable 1 to 2 new pins a day is a common target for growing accounts, but a few a week is fine when you are starting.

Is it bad to post too many pins?

Volume is not the problem. Repetitive or low-quality pins are. Keep each pin original and relevant.

Should I post all my pins at once?

Spread them out. Batch the creation, then publish over days or weeks.

Does posting time of day matter?

It matters much less than pin quality and keywords. Test it in your own Analytics rather than copying generic charts.

How many pins per blog post?

Aim for 5 to 10 fresh pins per important post over time.
