Short answer: if you are an Amazon seller, make idea-led pins from your own lifestyle photos, link each pin directly to the right listing or storefront, and track results with Amazon Attribution if you are in Brand Registry. If you are an affiliate promoting other brands, follow different rules, covered in our Pinterest affiliate marketing guide.

Why Amazon sellers use Pinterest
- Earlier in the journey. Searches like "camping gear checklist" or "small kitchen organisation" happen before a shopper knows which product to buy.
- Lasting reach. Pins can keep appearing in search long after you publish them.
- A channel you control. It does not depend on your Amazon ad budget.
Where your pins should link
| Pin | Best destination |
|---|---|
| A single product | That product's Amazon detail page |
| A product range or bundle | Your Amazon storefront or Brand Store page |
| A how-to or idea pin | Your own website if you have one, otherwise the most relevant listing |
| A pin you want to track | An Amazon Attribution link to the listing |
Keep links direct. Pinterest asks for clear, predictable destinations, and some link shorteners are not supported, so avoid redirect chains that hide where a pin goes.
Track sales with Amazon Attribution
Pinterest Analytics shows clicks, but not what happened on Amazon. Sellers enrolled in Amazon Brand Registry can use Amazon Attribution to create tagged links for outside traffic and see clicks, detail page views and sales per link.
Brand-registered sellers may also qualify for Amazon's Brand Referral Bonus, which credits part of qualifying sales from outside traffic. Rates, marketplaces and rules change, so read the current terms in Seller Central before you plan around it.
Pins that work for Amazon products
| Pin type | Example headline |
|---|---|
| Lifestyle | Cozy Reading Corner With a Weighted Blanket |
| Problem and solution | No More Tangled Cables Under Your Desk |
| Checklist | Weekend Camping Checklist for Beginners |
| Gift angle | Thoughtful Gifts for New Dog Owners |
| How to use | How to Meal Prep With Glass Containers |
Use your own lifestyle photos or designed pins instead of re-uploading your white-background listing image. They stand out more in the feed and avoid copying problems. Design at 2:3, for example 1000 x 1500 pixels.
Titles, descriptions and keywords
- Title: the problem or idea first, then the product type. For example "Under-Desk Cable Tray for a Tidy Setup". Keep it under 100 characters.
- Description: two or three sentences on who it helps and what it does. Keep it under 500 characters.
- Keywords: take them from Pinterest search autocomplete, not only your Amazon backend terms. The phrasing is often different.
Use the keyword generator and read Pinterest keyword research to build a list.
Make original pins with Pin Magic Studio
Pin Magic Studio reads the link you paste and offers 10+ designs from 100+ templates, and you can use your own photos, colours and fonts. For Amazon products, the best results come from your own product photos and lifestyle shots, so upload them rather than relying on whatever the page shows.
Always check that you are allowed to use the images you choose, and that the pin does not promise anything the listing does not deliver. Then export 1000 x 1500 PNG files and upload them with the link you want. See how to create pins with AI.
A simple monthly plan
- Pick your top 5 to 10 products by margin or sales.
- Find two or three Pinterest keyword angles for each.
- Make one fresh pin per angle and spread them across the month. Read fresh pins.
- Check outbound clicks in Pinterest Analytics and sales in Amazon Attribution.
- Make more pins for the products and angles that sell, and plan seasonal pins ahead.
Sellers versus affiliates
This page is about promoting your own Amazon products. Affiliates need disclosures, original content and different tracking, and Amazon Associates has its own rules. Read Pinterest affiliate marketing instead. Selling through your own store? See AI pin design for ecommerce.
Frequently asked questions
Can I link pins to my Amazon listings?
Yes. A standard pin can link to any destination URL, including your detail page or storefront. Keep links direct.
How do I track sales from Pinterest on Amazon?
If you are in Brand Registry, Amazon Attribution links show clicks, detail page views and sales. Without it you only see Pinterest outbound clicks.
What is the Brand Referral Bonus?
An Amazon programme for brand-registered sellers that credits part of qualifying sales from outside traffic. Check Seller Central for current rules.
Should I pin to Amazon or my own website?
If you have a site, send idea pins such as gift guides to it and product pins to Amazon. If Amazon is your only store, link to the listing.
Is this for affiliates?
No. It is for sellers promoting their own products. Affiliates should read our affiliate guide.
Show up before the Amazon search
